This website contains information for a Facilitator Training Program. The program contained in the pages of this website is an assignment for a Masters in Adult Education class at the University of Phoenix. The title of the class is CUR532 Facilitating On Line Learning, and is facilitated by instructor H. Garth Beerman.

The goal of this training program is to provide an understanding of the key principles and components found in online educational interface. This type of training is more commonly referred to as distance education.  This program will follow an asynchronous learning model and will be comprised of three different modules. Through these three modules the learner will become familiar with some of the principles and practices of training an individual using online training or through distance education. Some portions of this program will have information and documents that were created as weekly assignments from the University of Phoenix CUR532 Class.
Objectives -
By the end of the program,
  • Learners will be able to identify traits of an effective online facilitator.
  • Learners will have an understanding of the many tools that are available, and the use of those tools to engage learners in an online environment.
  • Learners will demonstrate knowledge of the difference between asynchronous and synchronous learning in an online environment.
  • Through end of module and end of program evaluations, learners will demonstrate knowledge of online communities, and the value of collaboration and creating a sense of belonging for the learner in an online environment.

To gauge progression of theories, models, and practices in this program, formative end of module evaluations will be used. As a final indicator of knowledge retention a summative evaluation will be used at the end of the program.
                                                                                                                                                                              Throughout this program are various terms that the learner may or may not understand. These terms will be highlighted and will contain a link that will take the learner to a glossary of terms for a definition of those terms.
